i made a song in April or May of 2021. i was at a very low point, and wanted to make something funky and upbeat. i think this contributed to the sound in a way.

this is the second version of that song, titled "Pride". the first version had a lot more energy and bass, but i wasn't satisfied with the mix. i finished this version on April 17, 2023. i felt like the original mix was strangling the sample, so i gave it room to breathe.

i'm sentimental towards this song, as it's the second song i've ever finished and the first song i've been utterly proud of. it also has a very personal significance to me.
